From 2 to 4 October, 14 students from the Primary and Secondary Model United Nations classes attended the 17th Model APEC Junior at City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan). Hosted by Beijing Asia Pacific Youth Exchange and Development Foundation and the Organising Committee of Asia-Pacific Youth Model APEC, this event serves as a youth tribute for the APEC China Year. It brings together young participants nationwide to discuss issues concerning the Asia-Pacific region.
Drawing on their broad global vision, rigorous critical thinking and poised diplomatic demeanour, our students delivered outstanding performances in debates and negotiations, winning multiple awards. Ms. Jessie, Primary Director’s Assistant, spoke as the teacher representative at the opening ceremony to share our school’s philosophy of nurturing students’ global outlook. Hugo from S3I was invited to speak as the student’s representative to give a speech in the closing ceremony.
This activity allowed students to step beyond classroom learning. They practised listening to diverse viewpoints and seeking consensus through collaboration, fully demonstrating the global citizenship of our learners. Our school team was also honoured with the Outstanding Organisation Award.
