IELTS Examination

January 14, 2026

Our school places great emphasis on language acquisition, striving to cultivate students’ ability to switch effectively across different contexts while prioritizing the systematic and forward-looking development of English education. The English curriculum is centred on an international framework and adopts differentiated instruction to support learners and extend high-achieving students according to individual ability. Aligned with Edexcel IGCSE and IAL English Language A, B and Literature, the programme incorporates extensive training in public speaking, debate, and MUN. Through these components, students develop academic English proficiency, critical thinking skills, and global perspective. As an important measure of English language ability and base requirement for universities around the world, IELTS provides a reliable reflection of students’ academic English use and supports progression to future studies and global pathways.

S2 students recently sat the IELTS examination and achieved commendable overall results. Principal Kou congratulated students and engaged with them to understand their learning experiences and future academic directions. Among the 21 S2 students who took the examination, six achieved band scores between 7.5 and 8, five achieved band 7, and ten achieved band scores between 6 and 6.5. These internationally recognised results demonstrate they have established a strong foundation in academic English comprehension and expression. They are well positioned to apply English effectively across subjects, drawing on strengths in both Chinese and English, and to plan confidently for future academic progression.
