To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the 26th Anniversary of Macao’s Return to the Motherland, the Preparatory Committee for “Retracing the Footsteps of the Dongjiang Column” held the Macao premiere ceremony on the afternoon of the 28th for “Retracing the Dongjiang Column — Inspiring Patriotism through the Southern China Route,” a series of 20 short video highlights.
Apart from providing venue support, our school also participated in the translation of the videos. Under the coordination of Mr. Tom and the guidance of Ms. Cherry, students completed the English version translation, contributing to the international promotion of the videos.
Student Wong Chong Kei shared her reflections on the translation experience, noting that she was responsible for translating the story of Dr. Ko Lin’s establishment of the First Aid Training Program. By day, Dr. Ko Lin practiced medicine and saved lives, while at night he engaged in underground activities, bearing the mission of national salvation. His actions not only embodied the kindness of a physician but also reflected profound patriotism. Through translating this piece of history, she came to deeply realize that today’s peace and stability were built upon the sacrifices and dedication of countless martyrs. She emphasized that we must not forget this history but rather remember the spirit of our forebears and carry it forward from generation to generation.
