Recently, the Chinese Language Department of our school organized Primary 2 students to visit the exhibition “The Lisboa, Stories of Macau”. This immersive journey exploring Macau’s history not only guided students through more than 500 years of Macau’s past, but also deeply integrated Chinese language learning with cultural exploration.
The exhibition features eight iconic Macau landmarks. Students compared the small fishing port of the Ming Dynasty with today’s “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.” The exquisite Qing Dynasty court art treasures displayed in the “Treasures of Lisboa Pavilion” also helped students learn elegant classical vocabulary hidden in the names of ancient artifacts.
Through this activity, Chinese language learning was no longer confined to textbooks; instead, students gained both knowledge and joy through real cultural experiences.
